Job Title: Biomedical Field Service Technician Job Summary: The responsibilities of the Biomedical Field Service Technician is to provide services and documentation for clinical medical devices. The Technician will perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of clinical medical devices and comply with the policies and procedures of the company and customer/client. Minimum Duties and Responsibilities: 1)Perform operational verification tests, electrical safety checks and install medical devices and/or related devices in facilities. 2) Perform corrective maintenance, incoming inspections and performance verification of on medical devices and systems. 3) Perform scheduled inspections of the preventative maintenance variety by inspecting, maintaining, and completing electrical safety testing of medical devices to ensure code compliance and patient safety. 4) Capable of performing acceptance testing for all new medical devices. Establish correct and safe operation of all new devices and ensure that the device meets all manufacturer specifications prior to acceptance. Ensures that the scheduling and completion of all warranty work is accomplished. 5) Provide technical support on all new and replaced medical devices under the department's responsibility. 6) Safety test medical devices and the health care facility's structural environment to ensure patient and staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards. 7) Consult with medical or research staff to ascertain that equipment functions properly and safely. 8) All other responsibilities as assigned. Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree in electronics, clinical engineering, or medical device electronics; or one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Please note this is a technical field service position and candidates will only be considered who have worked with electronics and test equipment in their work history and/or education.
