Job Summary: Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, co-workers and supervisors. Ensure safety and supervision of children at all times by meeting physical demands of the position. Typical Duties: * Establish a climate of respect for each child as an individual * Maintain a safe, clean, healthy, and orderly Child Development Center including indoor and outdoor areas * Follow health and safety standards for food handling, hand washing, and universal precautions with exposure to blood * Work collaboratively with children, parents, colleagues and supervisors * Model appropriate behavior; demonstrate a friendly, courteous and professional demeanor * Oversee the creation of developmentally appropriate curriculum for 3 year olds * Collaborate with on-site preschool teachers in planning and implanting age appropriate lessons * Design and deliver a Preschool program * Articulate fully with jr. kindergarten teachers to provide a seamless and successful transition for preschoolers into our jr. kindergarten program * Interact daily with each child and his or her learning processes * Assist with the coordination of the daily operations of the Child Development Center including: student registration, sign-in and sign-out procedures, and staffing support * Develop and distribute a weekly newsletter and maintain regular contact with parents/guardians * Assist in planning and attend classroom events and meetings * Perform other related duties as assigned Education: CDA Required. Experience teaching children is a must. Bilingual a plus.
