Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift), Sensible Portions (003691) Job Number: 003691 Job Title: Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift), Sensible Portions Number of Openings: 1 Job Type (Employment Type): Direct Hire Country: United States State/Province: Pennsylvania City: Mountville Salary Interval: Hourly - Non-Exempt Job Schedule: Full Time Job Category: Plant Manufacturing - Maintenance Level of Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Position Description Overview The basic purpose of the maintenance technician is to troubleshoot and repair all equipment associated in the production and packaging areas including, but not limited to pumps/motors, packaging machines, blending equipment and conveyors, etc. in a timely manner with minimal supervision Secondary duties include, but are not restricted to, upgrading and installation of new equipment, electrical, mechanical, PLC, welding, machining, etc., while maintaining the highest safety, quality, cost and GMP standards in a high speed manufacturing environment. Location: Pennsylvania (Mountville - 3rd Shift) * Work in a safe manner, in compliance with Company, State and Federal GMP's, SOP's and company Policies and Procedures * Properly troubleshoot and repair all equipment associated in the production, packaging areas * Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment * Perform general maintenance duties as it relates to plant equipment and building Participate and assist in the installation of new machinery * Properly perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, and plumbing duties as required * Inspect machines for parts wear and recommend/participate in making necessary repairs. * Additional duties and various projects as needed. * Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiate action, as necessary. * Follow all Food Safety guidelines, but not limited to: * GMP's * Allergen Program * Quality * Sanitation * Safety Safety Responsibilities: * Work in a safe and responsible manner at all times, following all safety policies, procedures, and rules * Report unsafe observations or conditions to a supervisor or manager * Immediately report an injury or accident to a supervisor or manager * Meet all company requirements for training, including Log Out/Tag Out, confined space, electrical safety, hot work, ladder, fall protection, fire safety, etc. SQF Requirements/Responsibilities: * Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner following prescribed procedures * Report food safety problems to a supervisor or manager * Assist in maintaining the preventative maintenance program Position Requirements Minimum Requirements: Education or equivalent experience for a technical role in a manufacturing environment. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: 1. High school diploma or equivalent required. 2. Industrial electrical/mechanical maintenance experience preferably in a packaging manufacturing environment, or similar education experience with Ovation Distributive Control System and Allen Bradley PLC is desirable but not required. 3. Experience troubleshooting and installing industrial machinery. 4. Project management - ability to see job through to completion with attention to detail in a timely manner. 5. Ability to work within a team concept. Flexibility is an asset. 6. Strong machining and welding skills are desirable. 7. Strong safety record. 8. Good attendance and dependability a must. 9. Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs. 10. Must have computer skills to look up part location/availability on computer using maintenance software. 11. Ability to communicate with other mechanics and be able to explain mechanical processes and theory. 12. Ability to meet attendance guidelines and work additional hours/OT as needed. 13. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with all contacts both inside and outside the company. 14.
