Position Description:We are searching for a Senior Payroll Accountant to take responsibility for ValidaTek's full cycle processing of our semi-monthly payrolls. The candidate will have the skills and experience necessary to further enhance our policies, procedures and internal controls.Responsibilities: 100% timely and accurately processing of payroll, withholdings and related tax payments.Uploading and reconciling timesheets from Deltek Time and Expense into the Costpoint accounting system for correct payroll and labor processing, and the posting of labor distribution at the end of each payroll.Performing timesheet labor corrections within ValidaTek's approved processes to adjust for changes in project task numbers/hours as necessary for billing purposes.Administering and overseeing deductions, contributions, garnishments and tax withholdings.Work with ADP for Preparation and processing all income tax payments to appropriate federal and state tax authorities and interaction with financial institution to ensure EFT processes have successfully occurred.Work with ADP for Preparation and processing of state unemployment reports and payments. Processes all W-2 forms.Interface with external and internal auditors.Reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts and transactions using the application of established accounting principles, techniques and practices. Preparation of month end journal entries for payroll related accounts. Other duties as assignedThe Senior Payroll Accountant position is predicated on successfully accomplishing the required objectives above and will undergo a three and six month review.Education and CertificationsFour year degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.Knowledge and ExperienceProgressively responsible work experience in a payroll environment. Extensive experience with DELTEK Costpoint and Time Collection is requiredMust be solutions oriented, a team player and take responsibility for the payroll function.Strong understanding of Cost Accounting Standards, government contract accounting and labor processes as well as payroll.Strong problem solving and analytical skills essential.Proficiency with MS Office tools.Excellent command of English grammar with strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to compose, edit and proofread business correspondence.Must have strong time management and planning skills and be able to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and assignments with little supervision.Strong interpersonal and listening skills. Ability to work and communicate in a professional manner and with a professional demeanor essential.Contribute to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork, and fostering positive communication.Able to maintain familiarity with current ValidaTek policies and procedures.Must maintain absolute confidentiality in all business matters.Capable of maintaining regular attendance and meeting deadlines.Monitor compliance by staff with established procedures and internal controls. Identify areas of recurrent problems.Train ValidaTek staff on periodic payroll and compliance matters as needed.
