Asset Movement Specialist
Edelman Financial Services, one of the nation's largest and most well-known financial planning firms, is seeking a skilledAsset Movement Specialist for our Richmond, VA office. This position will perform all aspects of Asset Movement and is responsible for, but not limited to; Setting up and verifying Banking Instructions, Money Movement, Account Closing, Paperwork Review, Account transaction reconciliation, and Miscellaneous Functions as assigned.Responsibilities:Establish standing instructions between client accounts and banking institutions for checks, ACH, wire, and internal transfersProcess the following: check requests, ACH requests, Fed Fund wire requests, internal transfers, IRA distributions, and Asset Movement forms due to death/divorceReview custodial systems/client accounts to identify funds available for money movementReconcile daily transactions and resolve discrepanciesWork with Trading to determine when trades are needed to provide sufficient funds for one-time and recurring client distribution requestsReview and process IRA to ROTH conversion, recharacterization, and excess contribution removal requestsOFAC monitoring on WiresEnsure that Accounts get final billed and Periodics are suspendedProcess Periodic Instructions requestsDaily review of Asset Movement paperwork/forms to ensure all are IGO and work with Planning Teams regarding any that are NIGO'sServe as Subject Matter Experts for all Asset Movement questions to the Planning TeamsContinually examines department processes, workflows, and systems for process improvement and increased efficiency opportunitiesServe as liaisons between our custodians and the Planning Teams for Asset Movement issuesOther duties assigned as necessaryRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance preferred, or equivalent industry experienceMinimum 2-5 years financial services industry experience specifically in a broker/dealer or registered investment advisor environment requiredMinimum 1 year of IRA or qualified plan experience is strongly preferredMust be detail oriented to ensure the highest level of customer service with an emphasis on accuracy and qualityRequires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and demonstrated proficiency in computer literacyCritical thinking and multi-tasking skills requiredAbility to prioritize and work efficiently in a deadline driven environmentExcellent organizational skillsStrong time management skills, including dependability and punctualityAble to quickly adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events with ease and professionalismAbility to be an active team participant is essentialAbility to understand the overarching Asset Movement environment both internally and externallyFor more information:www.edelmanfinancial.com EOE.
