Job Description Concrete Superintendent Callas Contractors is the foremost building construction firm in the four state areas of Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia. Pre-employment drug testing is required. Job Scope: Candidate must have the ability to motivate workers on site concrete pours and building construction projects. Must have good leadership abilities and a strong knowledge of concrete pulls, repairs and pours. Candidate must have thorough knowledge of all site concrete and utilities. Must have knowledge of practices, methods, equipment, materials and tools used in concrete site construction and maintenance. Understand, manage and prevent occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work. Must have five (5) years of experience working as a Concrete Supervisor and a high school diploma. Candidate must pass a thorough security background check. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · Good ability to manage employees and discipline them when needed. · Extensive knowledge of concrete work and building construction. · Good interpersonal and oral communication skills. · Computer skills, including Windows, Word and Excel. · Able to coordinate with project managers and read blueprints. · Good assessment of worksite and planning. · Excellent time management skills. · Must obtain and maintain an OSHA 30 certification, must be certified in First Aid/CPR and any other certifications as required by OSHA. · Represent the company in a professional, credible manner in speech, written communications and appearance. · Willingness to “roll up sleeves” and do what is necessary to get the job done. · Honesty, integrity and a strong desire to succeed. · Able to work independently with minimal supervision. · Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. · Complies with corporate policies and procedures. Job Duties: · Plan, assign, schedule, and supervise the work of concrete crew, laborers, truck drivers, and equipment operators engaged in the concrete work. · Delivers daily communication with the assigned project manager and additional “essential” personnel concerning performance, process improvements, safety and quality. · Understands the cost coding for the project and ensures compliance of field cost reporting to the cost codes set up in Accounting system. · Coordinates the field labor schedules of the construction team. Resolves any scheduling conflicts with the Project Manager. Coordinate all subcontractors and vendors on the job site. · Prepares all daily project field reporting. (Timesheets, Purchase Orders, etc.) · Monitors the progress of the project against the schedule and takes action to resolve project overruns. · Maintains a willingness to travel for available work. · Ensures vehicle cleanliness and vehicle maintenance schedules.
