Find Your World at Marriott. **Qualifications** JOB SUMMARY This position manages a team responsible for the accurate internal and external reporting of Marriott s legal entities in Europe. The team has responsibilities for producing financial information needed to meet statutory reporting obligations and ensuring the accounting for these legal entities is done in an accurate and timely manner. Responsibilities include financial statement preparation, coordination of audits and review and analysis of unaudited entities. The Senior Manager primarily works with significant independence, but within established guidelines, producing and analyzing financial information as well as legal contracts to support the accounting for subsidiaries. This position will be a key contributor in efforts to improve and create processes that ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information for Marriott s subsidiaries. In addition, he/she will serve as a contact for entity questions/issues for stakeholders across the organization. SCOPE/BUSINESS CONTEXT/EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS + Manage a team of finance and accounting professionals, prioritize projects and workload of the team and its individual members, and establish deadlines around those priorities. + Manage processes for producing foreign subsidiary financial statements and supporting schedules required for all local reporting requirements to include tax compliance and other statutory filing requirements. + Ensure completion of annual entity audits in a timely manner and in conjunction with local filing deadlines. Develop and implement ways to improve audit processes. + Embrace and leverage Marriott s technology investments, including PeopleSoft, Hyperion Financial Management, and associated reporting tools, to ensure maximumefficiency and effectiveness of relevant processes in place regarding entities and related reporting. + Manage the process to ensure accurate information is provided to support local country VAT filings for the entities. + Manage the process to review current year ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness. + Provide and support an environment of development and growth for the team s associates. + Participate in efforts to reorganize the entity structure. + Serve as point-of-contact for stakeholders across the organization for the entities. + Participate in department wide projects and goals. + Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs. CANDIDATE PROFILE Experience + Minimum of eight years of progressive job experience in accounting/finance field, including experience financial statement preparation and financial audits. + Proven manager with ability to lead a team toward the accomplishment of organizational goals and objectives and promote a positive working environment with focus on development of team members. + Experience with complex international accounting environment to include multiple subsidiaries, currencies and basis of accounting is preferred. Education or Certification + BS/BA in Accounting or Finance + CPA, CMA or MBA preferred Attributes, Knowledge and Skills + Strong business process skills; capable of developing effective processes, ensuring compliance with existing processes and producing quality results. + Able to develop and maintain effective client relationships and promote a client service orientation that delivers customer results. Able to influence others. + Ability to work effectively in a collaborative work environment. + Excellent communication skills. Ability to articulate issues to a variety of individuals at multiple levels within the organization. + Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and under pressure.
