Overview: Position: Assistant Director of Community Center & League Coordinator Department: York Corps Community Center Availability of Position: Immediate Schedule: Part-Time, 20-29 hours per week - Non Exempt; Sept. ? June; Full-Time ? Non Exempt June-August Reporting Relationship: Community Center Director Salary and Grade: $10.20 per hour; 70 Non-exempt Overview: Assist the Community Center Director in the development, conducting, and coordinating all programs for children and youth and direct the Community Center program. Responsibilities: Responsible for sports leagues, day camp and after school programs, as well as, assist in the overall maintenance and upkeep of the Community Center. Cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, etc Be responsible to organize, order, and upkeep of all gym equipment. Perform related duties as assigned by Supervisor. Qualifications: A committed Christian with a solid relationship with Jesus Christ, showing a strong desire to win others to the Lord. Be responsible to develop and expand new and existing programs for children and youth as well as their families that will nurture their spiritual growth and development. Able to communicate the gospel to youth and teens. Able to share the gospel with church and unchurched children. Has had significant experience in youth programming and leadership. Has good organizational skills. Actively participates in the worship and ministry of the Corps as time allows with work schedule. Must have a valid PA Driver's License. Performs related duties as assigned. While an appreciation for, and understanding of, the philosophy and mission of The Salvation Army is required, being active Salvationist is a plus. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
