Grant Thornton is seeking a Senior Manager to join its IT Advisory service line and take an active role in engagement execution, project management and key business development activities. As part of our team, the Senior Manager will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Ensuring that technical or financial solutions and schedules are recommended in a timely manner and that engagement staffing and planning issues are resolved. The senior manager works with Components on engagement issues and works with Partner/Principal/Director to resolve staffing and resource issues. He or she also conducts preliminary quality assurance over engagement deliverables and activities. Senior managers provide technical knowledge in their area of expertise, work individually and on teams to support the completion of engagement specific tasks within estimated time and budget constraints and interface with the client on a day-to-day basis. In addition, these individuals apply their expertise to the practical issues they identify or those presented by the client. Senior Managers direct the work of managers, senior associates, and staff and review workpapers and recommendations for accuracy and completeness. Supervise the overall execution of multiple engagements. Work with partners to determine overall audit strategy and project management, including staffing and the engagement budget. Communicate on a daily basis with client management and process owners. Research information system assurance and regulatory issues that arise during an audit engagement to determine client compliance with regulatory statutes. Manage proposal and business development efforts. Develop whitepapers and thought leadership documentation. Actively coach and mentor junior staff. Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management. Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work. Manage business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials. Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization). Act as performance manager (coach) for up to four coachees outside of engagement responsibilities. Interview campus and/or experienced candidates. These individuals shall be Certified Public Accountants, licensed by an appropriate state licensing authority, and in good standing with the AICPA and applicable state boards. Minimum experience includes eight years of general financial management and accounting experience including three years of experience auditing financial statements of federal government agencies or preparing agencies for audit. The Senior Managers must also have three or more years of experience in a managerial capacity. Bachelor?s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field. Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees. US citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required. Travel may be required. Coach and mentor junior staff members. Ability to work overtime required on occasion. Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally. Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements. Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
