Position Summary This position is responsible for managing the development, direction, and control of the bank's business banking relationships within the assigned market. Has direct supervision over the Commercial Relationship Officers. Is responsible for making commercial loans within established lending limits with full accountability for all of the business banking activities. Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities Develops and manages all types of commercial banking relationships. Interviews applicants, gathers and evaluates financial and related data to establish credit worthiness, establishes and re-negotiates credit terms, when necessary. Continually monitors customers' financial condition and repayment progress. Assesses clients' banking and financial needs. Has a leadership role in the bank's business development activities. Attracts new business relationships and expands existing business relationships. Supervises, directs, and controls the activities of the commercial relationship officers. Approves or rejects loans exceeding the credit authority of subordinate business banking officers up to approved lending limits. May supervise and coordinate activities of the business banking clerical support staff. Monitors individual performance of business banking staff monthly and annually. Works with Human Resources Department to recruit and hire business banking staff as necessary. Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Recommends modifications to bank lending policies and procedures; ensures that necessary changes are implemented expeditiously. Recommends marketing programs for the division. Provides timely and accurate reports to Executive Management on the performance of the Business Banking Division. Provides an annual budget and business plan for the Business Banking Division. Updates knowledge and develops professionally on a continuing basis through various training resources. Monitors all delinquent loans up to 60 days past due to insure collection efforts are in place. Maintains professional community relations to increase the bank's visibility and new business opportunities, and to further personal development. Satisfactorily complete required annual BSA/AML and other compliance related training appropriate for this position by achieving a score of 85% and appropriately apply this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities. Responsible for understanding the Bank's BSA/AML Policy and following the provisions of the policy, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsible for understanding the Bank's BSA/AML Policy, including satisfactory completion of required annual BSA/AML training as applicable to position and appropriately applying this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately. Educational & Other Requirements Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, related field, or equivalent experience. Thorough understanding of Financial Statements, tax returns, and credit approval process. Strong human relations, communication, sales, financial leadership and analytical skills. Strong well-developed interpersonal skills in order to maximize business contacts and develop a working relationship with potential and current commercial customers. Minimum of one year prior supervisory/management experience Motivation and drive must be exhibited. Interact effectively and communicate with customers via telephone and email.
