**JobTitle** Administrative Assistant **Job Highlights** This position will support the daily business activities of the MITRE Legal department, which includes but is not limited to supporting the Associate General Counsel/Executive Director Compliance, the Ethics and Compliance Office, and the Government Relations function. Individual must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills that include spelling, punctuation, grammar and proofreading. Will be expected to learn quickly and effectively handle tasks that require tact, initiative and sound judgment. **Why Should I Consider MITRE?** Working at MITRE at -at-mitre **Key Functions** Routine responsibilities will include: * Drafting outgoing correspondence (letters & memos). * Payment of department invoices. * Processing of department purchases utilizing company credit card. * Updating Excel databases. * Travel reservations & employee reimbursements * Meeting coordination * Phone coverage * Subscriptions/memberships * Calendar Management and File/Records Management, including litigation files and compliance documents Locating information and documents for litigation, investigations, and other legal matters * Legal Office Notary Services (willingness to become one) The position will report to the Associate General Counsel / Executive Director Compliance. In addition to the above, the position may involve participation in overflow of administrative tasks from other Legal Office administrative professionals. **Location** VA: McLean Campus **Required Skills:** Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) as well as strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy. Excellent grammar and effective interpersonal communication skills required in providing support to the Legal department and coordinating with employees throughout the company, outside legal professionals, and vendors. Displaying tact and having discretion are essential attributes in this position. **Preferred Qualifications** Prefer an Associate's Degree and 3-7 years of administrative work experience. **Minimum Education/ Experience** High school diploma or equivalent, plus 3 years of experience the equivalent in job-relevant work experience **Travel Statement** *This position will require overnight travel up to 5 % of the time as well as some local travel. **Clearance** Not Required **Clearance Statement** Security Clearance is not required for this initial assignment.
