**IT/ Information Assurance Security Engineer** **CGI-experience the commitment** Find similar career opportunities Category:Cybersecurity City:Herndon, Virginia, United States Position ID:J0317-2580 Employment Type:Full Time **Meet our professionals** **CGI: An employer of choice** **Position Description:** CGI Federal has a need for an IT /IA Security Engineer to provide security support to our client located in Herndon VA. **Your future duties and responsibilities:** o Provide support to the IT Security Engineer SME for all technical security related tasks. o Monitor system event monitoring and analysis tools. o Monitor security log systems for IDS/IPD., Audit Log Monitors, application logs. o Assist with documenting log analysis efforts performed when needed (daily, weekly and monthly basis). o Assist with vulnerability assessments as part of a routine assessment of IT systems. o Work with the Security Analyst on the Hosting Operations Team to address and remediate security vulnerabilities when necessary. o Assist with the maintenance of security configuration baseline documentation. o Produce and deliver security configuration and audit reports and deviation reports where necessary. **Required qualifications to be successful in this role:** ? 3-5 years of professional experience in technical environments, with at least 2 of those years focused on cyber security. ? Knowledge of NIST, FISMA and FedRAMP standards around cyber security ? Working knowledge of security tools, including: NMAP, Nessus, Tripwire, QRadar. ? Working knowledge of DoD STIGs ? Strong computing fundamentals including: networking protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP, LAN/WAN), program execution and control flow (processes, forking, syscalls, call stack) ? Knowledge of Cloud security ?
