Explore the future of education at www.discoveryeducation.com.Responsibilities:The goals of the Vice President for Partnership Marketing include: * Lead Discovery Education's strategic marketing efforts related to driving awareness and demand for our products and services, generating leads, stimulating usage, and driving renewals* Reinforce Discovery Education's position as a thought-leader in the education market, including subject curriculum area expertise, professional development and research* Provide the Educational Partnerships team with the marketing support required to build and generate new relationships with key stakeholders * Work across the organization to deliver branding and integrated marketing campaigns that resonate with our partners, reflect the educational value and position of our offerings and demonstrate our impact in districts across the country The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for managing an organization driven by these goals and will look to, whenever possible, quantify the impact of the marketing activities in achievement of partnership business goals. The position will perform the following specific functions:1. Lead a team of cross-functional marketers to develop and execute effective marketing activity* Create integrated, metrics-based strategic marketing plans that include acquisition marketing, regional marketing, events & conferences, content marketing, marketing operations, post-sale marketing, and creative solutions* Work with each team to develop annual marketing plans and manage each team to their deliverables* Reach across the organization to combine efforts in marketing, including communications, public affairs, community efforts and implementation * Lead the communication strategy targeting new partners* Gain input from and communicate plans across the division and Discovery corporate when appropriate* Align plans with business, revenue and partnership goals * Create quarterly reports of activity and results (ROI and performance against objectives) across each marketing channel to optimize marketing mix2. Develop opportunities to demonstrate our thought-leadership and impact in the education market* Leverage marketing channels to support thought leadership underpinned by our products and services including but not limited to content marketing, case studies, research reports, events, webinars and virtual field trips* Ensure break-through creative through design, web, print, social and digital marketing* Develop ROI-driven paid and non-paid media campaigns3. Fully align activities to those of the educational partnership team by ensuring marketing is supporting each stage of the marketing funnel* From awareness building to evaluation and conversion, , ensure marketing activity is sufficiently addressing and impacting each level on the path to retention * Improve the trial sign up and management process experience* Improve customer onboarding and experienceDepartmental Summaries: The Discovery Education Marketing Team collaborates internally to develop and execute marketing plans that promote our products, services and expertise in the market. The team consists of marketing experts with experience in branding, lead generation, lead management, events, regional strategies, creative disciplines, and relationship-building.Acquisition Marketing ResponsibilitiesThe focus of this team is to build demand for the suite of K-12 products and develop large scale lead generation programs that generate revenue and return on investment. Regional Marketing ResponsibilitiesThe focus of this team is to directly support the Partnership (sales) team members in the field by building and deepening relationships with partners (customers), merchandising initiatives and successes, and supporting regional activities, events, and conferences. Content Marketing ResponsibilitiesThe focus of content marketing is to drive top of the funnel brand awareness by developing and distributing content for our target audience and monitoring the effectiveness of content marketing efforts. Marketing Operations ResponsibilitiesThe focus of marketing operations is to oversee the development of protocols and processes for marketing automation systems, ensure that marketing activity is tracked using appropriate methods, including but not limited to, Google Analytics, Salesforce Campaigns, Certain, etc., and develop dashboards and reports to gauge marketing effectiveness Creative Solutions ResponsibilitiesThe focus of this team is to provide creative solutions to support national and regional marketing initiatives through design, digital marketing, and video production. Events and Conferences Marketing ResponsibilitiesThis team is responsible ensuring our strategic presence at key events and conferences and developing Discovery Education sponsored events to engage partners and prospects on a national level. Partner SuccessThe focus of this post-sale team is to ensure that each stage of the customer lifecycle is impacted by targeted marketing activity that drives usage, uptake of professional development, and retention.Requirements:* Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred * 10+ years of experience in the K-12 market* 10+ years of experience managing and supervising a cross-functional team of professionals* Demonstration of marketing channel management skills (including experience with Salesforce, marketing operations, and ROI data analysis) and achievements* Knowledge and experience with K-12 digital media and demonstrated understanding of the changing role of digital media in teaching and learning* Strong PC skills, with a high level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and web 2.0 platforms* Extremely well organized and detail oriented, with strong project management and analytical skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills* Must be proactive and excel in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment* Must have the legal right to work in the United States* Candidate must be willing to travel * Must be based in the Silver Spring office
