The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army. **About the Position:** This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to US Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Army Research, Develop & Engineer Command, Director Laboratory Operations, Experimentation Support Group ALC, Intelligence & Security, Adelphi, Maryland. The incumbent Serves as Security Specialist (INFO) in the Intelligence and Security Office and the Command Classification Management Officer. **WARNING:** DO NOT INCLUDE CLASSIFIED INFORMATION IN YOUR APPLICATION PACKET! This is a Career Program (CP) Position 35. Duties * Manages program, makes reviews, and coordinates classification and declassification decisions for multidiscipline intelligence programs. * Serves as the Classification Advisor to Chief, I&S. Makes security determinations and decisions to enforce DoD and Army classification management and security policies. * Serves as Organization's Program Manager for the oversight of Security Violations involving Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Special Access Programs (SAPs) and Collateral classified information. * Manages, reviews, coordinates, and directs appropriate actions, countermeasures, and reports to DA and other IC Staffs as required in response to Security Violations. * Serves as a primary staff Action Officer for actions pertaining to security program management as assigned by supervisor for a wide variety of security related topics in any given discipline under the purview of the Chief. * Interprets regulations and contributes to policy formulation pertaining to the security functional areas of information, personnel security, industrial security, foreign disclosure, technology protection and SAPs. Specialized experience is defined as:1) Performing a wide range of Personnel Security, Physical Security and Information Security duties. 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and resolving difficult and complex security requirements or problems dealing with policies and security programs. 3) Performing functional authority and control over all security related automation, disclosure and operations.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas: ABILITY TO SERVE AS PROGRAM MANAGER KNOWLEDGE OF SECURITY PLANS, POLICIES & PROCEDURES SKILL IN ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION NOTE: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency so long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower grade in the series. **EDUCATION:** Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
