Bloomberg BNA seeks a Pricing Analyst to research, track, and analyze a variety of information about prospects and customers for use in determining the pricing of proposals and contracts. Maintain various databases and issue status reports of pricing requests.


Under general supervision, research various non-Bloomberg BNA databases to gather information; categorize each lawyer’s area(s) of practice in order to determine the size of the prospect or client for pricing purposes; research existing similar pricing agreements using Bloomberg BNA business systems and analyze similar cases to guide the composition of the current request; coordinate with Commercial Operations teams to participate in customer research projects in support of pricing; monitor the group’s pricing request queue and database of pricing information; check incoming requests for accuracy and completeness; forward questions to appropriate person; track and report status of pricing requests and proposals; prepare a variety of reports and proposals to support pricing; participate in special projects; and perform other duties as assigned.


2+ years’ relevant business experience including substantial knowledge in legal or research environment; ability to research, review and assemble information to determine logical conclusions or recommendations based on readily available data and information; excellent analytical skills; strong business math skills as necessary to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages, and other calculations for pricing purposes; excellent business writing skills including knowledge of business English, vocabulary, punctuation, grammar, and spelling as necessary to write effective business communications including e-mails, notices to the field, recommendations, etc.; strong verbal communication skills as necessary to communicate and coordinate with others on routine but varied issues; ability to use office productivity software currently in use at Bloomberg BNA and the use of the internet, including the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and databases and to generate established reports from them; ability to make routine decisions based on established policies and procedures; and accuracy and attention to detail. Bachelor’s with coursework in business, marketing, research, or related subjects. Education may be considered in lieu of experience.


Candidates are required to pass a test for this position.
