Junior Human Resources Administrator
Jr. Human Resources Administrator Location : Virginia Corporate Headquarters, Sterling VA US Job Description :SCOPE: The Jr. HR Administrator provides policy, payroll, technical, and customer service guidance within the Human Resources Department for internal and external customers (employees, vendors, candidates for employment, etc.). He or She assists with administrative recruiting and maintaining the HRIS database; provides recommendations for development and administration of HR policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs); mentors HR Specialists; and works on special projects; reports to the VP of HR. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 3-4 years of experience in Human Resources Must be detail oriented with superior follow-through skills. Must thrive in a team atmosphere and effectively work with all employees. Strong ability to multi-task, organize workload, manage priorities, and meet critical deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills and customer-focused behaviors. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in written correspondence. Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, Visio) skills and a proven aptitude for technology. HRIS, database, and payroll experience required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs a variety of generalist tasks to support HR and employees. Supports recruiting team by phone screening, sending offer letters, and ordering pre-employment screening. Acts as HR Business Partner to senior leadership. a€‹Responds to a variety of inquiries regarding employment status, benefits, payroll, etc., and provides information to employees regarding policies, procedures, practices, and entitlements. Creates and maintains data and other records in the operations database and the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) including training data, new hires, etc. Completes credentialing, reference checks, and verifications of employment and payroll information. Conduct off-boarding by scheduling exit interviews, collecting company assets, recording feedback, and reviewing post-employment documentation. Maintains confidentiality of personnel information and other sensitive data. Completes miscellaneous research, reports, and memos as requested. Assists employees with payroll inquiries. Assists with audits and quality control of physical and electronic files. Maintains professional working relationships with applicants, visitors, callers, and internal/external business professionals. Trains new employees on use of employee portals for payroll, benefits, and timekeeping. Keeps management appropriately informed of activities and of any significant concerns or conflicts. Ensures legal compliance by staying well informed about federal and state requirements relative to employment actions and activities.
