Requisition Number 17-0013 Post Date 4/3/2017 Title Senior Advisor - Legal, Policy, & Strategy Division Division of Enforcement and Investigations PT/FT Full Time City Washington State DC Description Job DescriptionThe PCAOB has a full-time, regular position for a Senior Advisor - Legal, Policy, and Strategy - Attorney in the Division of Enforcement and Investigations at its Washington, DC headquarters office. This key role reports to the Director of Enforcement and Investigations and requires a proactive person who thrives in a multi-faceted professional environment.ResponsibilitiesMember of the Division's senior staff; Supports the Director in overseeing the enforcement program and accomplishing the Division's strategic goals and objectives;Assist in the evaluation of investigations and/or litigated proceedings deemed necessary to determine whether registered public accounting firms and persons associated with those firms have violated the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (as amended), the rules of the PCAOB and the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other laws, rules, and professional standards governing the audits of public companies, brokers, and dealersCollaborate and coordinate with the Deputy Directors within the Division of Enforcement and Investigations and with other PCAOB divisions/offices to identify matters for possible investigations;Help formulate and implement Division policy as to investigative, litigation, organizational, and strategic practices;Establish and effective relationships with senior officials in other PCAOB Divisions and Offices; the SEC, state and other federal government agencies, civil and criminal; self-regulatory organizations and foreign audit regulators;Assist in responding to Board and SEC requests for information pertaining to Division;Assume lead role in preparing Division's quarterly reports to the Board; Research and communicate within Division legal and judicial developments in area of auditor liability and federal securities laws more generally that impact the Division's work;Lead Division's data mining and technological efforts; Assist Division in managing its budget and operational efforts; Developing and leading efforts at communicating the PCAOB's enforcement priorities and objectives to investors, other regulators, and members of the audit profession and the bar;Assist Division in its review of proposed Board audit standards and rules; Assume lead role in preparing and directing Division's annual conference; Coordinate and develop periodic Division-wide training programs; Assist Director in his role as Vice Chairman of the Enforcement Working Group for the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators; andPlan, develop, and assist in the implementation of Division special projects or initiatives as needed Requirements QualificationsAt least 12 years of progressively responsible experience with either a law firm, corporation, government agency or regulatory body, or combination thereof, related to public accounting, public auditing or SEC financial reporting matters;Juris doctor (JD) from an accredited law school in the United States; Active member of the Bar; Superior technical abilities, regulatory knowledge, leadership, and verbal and written communications skills;Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; and Some Ability to travel.
