Overview:The Home Equity Loan Processor will be responsible for working with members and credit union staff to complete all processing activities for a home equity loan application.The Home Equity Loan Processor will accurately collect and review all documentation needed to provide a complete and accurate loan package to Home Equity Underwriting in order for them to render a quick and prudent decision on the loan application. The Home Equity Loan Processor will effectively provide prompt, accurate, and timely pro-active member service. S3 has a commitment to excellence and the highest standards of member service. The Home Equity Processor is a mid-level position.Responsibilities:- Review all assigned home equity applications received and ensure completion of all required data- Ensure all RESPA disclosures have been generated accurately and delivered as required- Obtain and review all necessary documents from the member and any other applicable third parties that are required in order to meet Credit Union partner product/guidelines- Respond to all member inquiries and questions related to the transaction and keep them informed of the status of their loan throughout the entire process- Work with outside vendors to order required documents such as appraisals, title reports, flood certifications and mortgage insurance- Complete appropriate checklist and submit a complete and accurate loan file to Underwriting for a final decision on the loan- Maintain service levels for all processing turn-times as set forth by management- Work in collaboration and partnership with other team members- Additional job related projects as assigned by management Qualifications: Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience 2-3 years of experience processing home equity or 1st trust mortgages preferred Strong knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to the mortgage banking industry (ie: RESPA, TILA, ECOA etc) Candidate must be highly organized and able to handle a fast paced environment Ability to perform mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary Excellent customer service skills with strong attention to detail Time Management skills and the ability to prioritize workload based on department SLA's and member needs Strong analytical skills required with a high degree of accuracy Ability to work flexible hours as needed Ability to multi-task in other areas of the unit Aptitude to work independently as well as part of a team and ability to collaborate with others Positive attitude and team-oriented Ability to function in an ever changing environment
