PenFed is hiring for a Senior Manager, Finance Process in McLean, Va. The primary purpose of this job is to serve as the subject matter expert for financial systems and processes and ensure data integrity, management of system changes, analyze data flows for process improvement opportunities and be directly responsible for successful delivery of Financial systems projects and process improvements.

    Manages the configuration and integration of PeopleSoft payroll systems and Hyperion Workforce Planning for budgeting purposes Design and implement the strategic roadmap for financial technology in the areas of workforce planning, payroll, reporting, metrics, analytics, and overall systems integration Partner with functional leaders, IT and other departments to understand business requirements and drivers for financial systems (payroll, workforce planning, GL interface) Review and recommend changes to business processes, systems, vendors, programs, and procedures which will result in increased efficiencies of financial processes Serve as overall Finance liaison working with IT on enterprise system discussions related to workforce planning, payroll, and GL interfaces Lead the review, testing and implementation of current and future payroll and workforce planning system projects (implementations, upgrades, and patches). Collaborate with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix, maintain system tables, and document process and results. Configure all aspects of the Time and Labor and Payroll for North America modules of the PeopleSoft HCM system working closely with IT and HR Information Systems Subject Matter Expert on all data associated with PeopleSoft payroll and time and labor (data architecture, functionality, data, queries/reporting, and vendor integrations) Conduct training and development of the team to better utilize system capabilities. Ensure compliance with IRS and Department of Labor requirements in regards to payroll processing.

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

    Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.  Minimum of eight (8) years’ of experience in various Payroll systems and processes, and professional certification in Payroll considered in lieu of degree. Possess functional and technical expertise of ERP/Payroll systems; experience with PeopleSoft HCM and Hyperion preferred. Creative problem solver who is able to think beyond the status quo and architect technical solutions to business problems in a timely manner.

Supervisory Responsibility

    This position will mentor employees and may eventually supervise direct employees

Licenses and Certifications

    CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification required.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
