This individual leads the effort to design, produce and interpret defined benefit plan proposals and Special Early Retirement Programs (SERPs) at the request of NRECAa€ (TM) s members. In addition, this role provides guidance to our membership with regard to the adoption of or modifications to defined benefit plans and, to a lesser degree, defined contribution plans.Purpose and Mission1. Acts as primary contact with regard to Retirement Security Plan (a€œRS Plana€ ) proposals. Works with colleagues from the Actuarial, Legal and Compliance units to provide the best retirement program alternatives for our membership.2. Provides special early retirement program (SERP) proposals and guidance to member cooperatives that are considering an offer of early retirement to participants in the RS Plan. 3. Assists field staff in providing guidance and education to members contemplating participation in NRECAa€ (TM) s RS and 401(k) plans. Guides members on the significant benefits and features of NRECAa€ (TM) s retirement plans. Provides timely and accurate information through both formal and informal communications. 4. Provides consultation to members regarding complex amendments to the RS Plan and the 401(k) Pension Plan. This includes plan amendments necessitated by restructuring, acquisition of a subsidiary, or changes in retirement programs due to new management philosophies. 5. Prepares board resolutions, adoption agreements, 204(h) notices and other ERISA and DOL required documentation to assist members with successfully amending their retirement plans. 6.
