Job Description:The Financial Analyst, Patient Financial Services is responsible for analyzing, testing, and implementation of new systems and software upgrades. Responsible for dictionary maintenance for Meditech's ADM, B/AR , e-premis electronic claims software and Electronic Financial Record. Track, analyze, research, and resolve PFS claims, remittance, and workflow issues. Serves as liaison between PFS department, external venders, and IT department. Assist Director and Managers of PFS with business office and patient access departmental process improvement and quality improvement activities. Perform Educational and training to end-users on application use and functionalities. Create, prepare, analyze, and report operational and financial performance. Performs additional duties as assigned. Education & Experience : * Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or computer systems certification required. * A minimum of 3 years as a systems analyst required. * A minimum of 5 years experience in Patient Financial Services required. * Advanced excel and database management skills. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Knowledge of Meditech B/AR and/or ADM application and e-premis preferred. Licensure & Certification : * CPAT or CPAM is preferred. Skills & Abilities : * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Proficient in manipulating data for analysis and reporting. * Must have advanced excel and advanced database management skills with the ability to organize large volumes of data. * Ability to organize and perform end-user training. * Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities. * Possess knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance rules. * Ability to effectively evaluate and detect complex systems/process issues and recommend viable resolutions. * Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. * Ability to function under pressure in a face pace environment. * The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with patients, physicians, health system officials, other health system personnel and the general public is essential. * Able to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. * Ability to work with mathematical and accounting concepts. * Ability to apply concepts such as fraction, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valued conclusions. * Ability to prioritize work responsibilities; think and act independently with limited supervision; make effective financial decisions utilizing appropriate problem solving skills to approach situations in an imaginative, common, innovative, interpretive and analytical manner. Physical Demands : Will work in a clean, well-lighted environment. Requires sitting approximately 70% of the time; requires standing and walking approximately 30% of the time. Requires lifting up to 50 lbs. less than 10% of the time and carrying up to 25 lbs. 25% of the time. Requires bending and reaching less than 10% of the time. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and/or blood and body substances and hazardous materials requiring the observance of Standard Precautions and safe handling practices.
