Job Description:Position Description Job Purpose: The Compliance Associate's primary responsibility is maintaining the compliance of the company's timekeeping system per Accounting Business System criteria set forth in DFARS 252.242-7006. Other responsibilities include assist in development and mangement of the indirect forward pricing rates, assist in development of indirect rate incurred cost proposals, and handling of general accounting system compliance issues. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: oResponsible for overall of timekeeping policy and procedures oEnsures all employees' time is entered into the accounting system and approved at the end of the timekeeping period oResponsible for the overall processing of timekeeping within SAP and exporting interface time sheet flat(from SAP for ADP) .csv files and reviewing for accuracy oResponsible for Contractor Purchase Order tracking, time and payment oReviews accounting data for timekeeping corrections and changes. Manages the timekeeping change/correction approval process oPerforms monthly reconciliation of project labor cost to general ledger and payroll (labor distribution) and monitors variances between standard labor rates and actual labor rates oPerforms timekeeping floorchecks to ensure employees are following timekeeping policies and procedures oAssist in development of Forward Pricing Rates and examine current expenses to determine if there is a need to make rate adjustments throughout the fiscal year oAssist in development of Indirect Rate Incurred Cost Proposals oAssist in providing accounting data and support for federal government audits and inquiries oComplying with and promoting all relevant legal requirements & Smiths policies and procedures, including business ethics, data protection and health & safety Requirements ROLE REQUIREMENTS: Education/training:o4-year degree in Accounting or similar field preferred Experience:o3 years cost accounting experience and/or time keeping administrative experience Knowledge skills/ other attributes:oDetail oriented with good follow-up practices oCapable of multi-tasking and highly organized oStrict adherence to confidentiality and high ethical standards oWorking knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards a plus oIntermediate level expertise in MS Excel, MS Word and SAP desired oExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal and able to work with little supervision *Must be eligible for a US Security Clearance Smiths Detection is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
