Requisition Number 17-0037 Post Date 3/13/2017 Title Consumer Lending Loan Processor City Herndon State VA Description The primary role of this position is to assist Northwest Federal Credit Union to live out our vision to be the lifetime financial partner for our member-owners. This position is responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this service to external members is to ensure each employee identifies membersa€ (TM) financial needs and suggests appropriate Credit Union solutions.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMust include the following and you may include any additional:- Deliver outstanding service that delivers on our Service Promises.- Meet or exceed the service goals for the position.- Knowledge of the Credit Uniona€ (TM) s products and services.- Complete BVS classes as assigned.- Maintain department policy and procedure documentation accordingly.- Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).i'| Reviews approved applications to ensure all conditions have been met prior to funding.i'| Processes loan applications by verifying and evaluating information provided on consumer loan applications and preparing documents. Research and gather supporting data and documentation.i'| Review and analyze all documentation received to determine ratios, credit and collateral acceptability. Including but not limited to, income verification documents, collateral insurance binders, purchase orders, bills of sales, and any other documentation.i'| Complete funding and disbursement of consumer loans.i'| Ensures applications and disbursement instructions are complete and loans are in compliance with federal and NCUA laws, regulations, and NWFCU policies and procedures.i'| Able to handle multiple loans in various stages in an environment consisting of phone calls, emails and questions.i'| Provides support to the entire department to facilitate loan application processing.i'| Works directly with members and third parties (dealers) to obtain necessary paperwork to process Preapproved Loan (PAL) checks.i'| Determines collateral, interest rates, terms, and other consumer loan criteria are accurate on loan documents.i'| To provide the highest quality professional service to members interviewing and counseling loan applicants, offering membera€ (TM) s information on all types of loans, interest rates, collateral requirements, terms and all other products and services offered by the Credit Union and CUSO.i'| Verifies quality and accuracy of loan documents. Ensures proper loan documents are used.i'| Monitor and manage multiple loan system queues and email inboxes to meet service levels.i'| Remains alert to possible fraud and forward to the appropriate area for review or action.i'| Research and respond to member inquiries and inquiries from internal departments from all channels, including telephone, e-mail, secure web messaging and e-fax.i'| Must be detail-oriented, organized and knows all policies and procedures, of products and services available through the Credit Union and CUSO, and can communicate them to members using clear and correct grammar and written skills that are easily understood by members. i'| Cross-sells all products and services to include Debt Protection, Auto Warranty and GAP protection. Attempts to capture loans from other financial institutions while processing loans for members.i'| Ensures loans are properly uploaded into core system while maintaining current knowledge of loan funding and documentation procedures.i'| Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks by prioritizing job responsibilities.i'| Knowledge of Debt Management Programs, to include Balance and Debt- In- Focus.i'| Must have strong computer skills and proficiency with lending industry software and terminology. Is able to compute payment schedules. Stays abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products in order to better meet member needs.i'| Ability to maintain flexibility and adaptability for departmental and Credit Union changes.i'| Other duties may be assigned. Requirements Availability to work a flexible schedule M- F 9:00am a€" 5:30pm, 9:30am a€" 6:00pm, 10:45am - 7:15pm, alternating Saturdays 9:00am-1:00pm.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Excellent verbal, organizational, and problem-solving skills needed.High School Diploma and experience as Member Service Representative and Floater within NWFCU. 1-2 years of experience in financial services.SKILLSPC skills include ability to use Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word, as well is Internet Explorer.Computer Applications: MeridianLink, LoansPQ, Symitar, Synapsis (if applicable), Synergy/Document Processing Client. Zix (secure email), ePort credit reporting, Nada Guides, Route 66 Auto Warranty and GAP programs. . Ability to use the keyboard, calculator, fax machine and copier. -Working knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.LANGUAGE SKILLSLanguage skills require the ability to interpret all requests using effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Greets all members, co-workers and vendors with a professional greeting. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bi-Lingual in Spanish a plus.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSMathematical skills include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and effectively use a 10 key calculator.Loan Processors must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using a calculator. At times, Loan Processors may need to manually calculate debt ratios and bi-weekly and monthly loan payments.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Loan Processors must exercise discretion and confidentiality with regards to member/employee information.
