Such responsibilities will include assisting the Managing Vice President, Fixed Income and other senior investment personnel, in developing and implementing fixed income and stable value fund/portfolio strategies and stable value investment products. In addition to other responsibilities assigned, the Fund Manager will also be integral in planning, managing projects and liaising with other groups and divisions of the Corporation and with external parties.Essential functions for this role include:a€ cents Management of sub-advised proprietary fixed income/stable funds and/or investment management oversight of fixed income funds/portfolios and external fixed income managers:o Perform due diligence (both qualitative and quantitative analysis) on funds/portfolios/asset managerso Manage the due diligence process of existing funds/portfolios/asset managers including the relationships with asset managerso Manage the investment guideline process (including negotiations, implementation and adherence) for funds/portfolios/asset managerso Support Senior Fund Managers and other Fund Managers through a team approach to provide continuity of daily management of other fixed income funds/portfolioso Stay updated and provide input on the financial markets, the economy, fixed income securities, mutual/commingled funds and stable value investmentso As needed, manage cash flows and/or the rebalancing of certain funds and portfolioso Manage the hiring and termination process for asset managerso Develop relationships with and perform due diligence on back-up and prospective asset managerso Research, review, write, and as needed, present routine and ad hoc reports of certain funds, portfolios and asset managers for different reporting needs. Examples include information for internal groups/divisions, committee meetings, board reports, fund prospectus, regulation filings, clients and consultants a€ cents Assist the MVP, Fixed Income and/or other Senior Fund Managers in developing and implementing fixed income/stable value fund/portfolio strategies:o Conduct research to support and help determine optimal portfolio structure, asset managers and asset allocation.o Develop, establish and implement appropriate investment policies, guidelines and procedureso Implement the changes needed including working with asset managers, issuers, other external parties and different groups within the Corporationa€ cents As assigned by the MVP, Fixed Income, the Fund Manager may assist and be responsible for other activities such as:o Analyze stable value investment contractual terms/guidelines, work with in-house counsel on contracts and assist MVP, Fixed Income in the negotiations of contract terms/guidelines with stable value issuerso Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with current and prospective issuers, other stable value managers, and consultantso Assist in developing new stable value productso Take an active role in special investment related studies and projectso Assist in the investment management of Corporationa€ (TM) s fixed income portfolios and related activitieso Support marketing, sales or other communications efforts through research, analysis, written reports, a€œrequest for proposala€ reviews/responses utilizing fixed income and stable value specific knowledgeo Manage projects common to fixed income team for internal groups such as Compliance, Internal Audit, and Legalo Manage relationships with outside vendorso Work closely with the MVP, Fixed Income and Senior Fund Managers in developing analysts in the Fixed Income Group Requirements If you have the following credentials, we encourage you to apply: a€ cents MBA/MA Degree or equivalent work-related experience a€ cents 5-7 years of a€ cents Applied investment and economic analysis Investment experience with emphasis on stable value portfolio structuring and contract analysis; fixed income portfolio analysis; investment and economic trends; broad knowledge of fixed income securities; attention to detail; and communication of investment-related information.
