This position will serve as an engineer delivering technical capabilities to enhance the division’s ability to execute vulnerability assessments. This position will focus on the engineering and management of technical assessment and vulnerability analysis capabilities. This position will be responsible for full lifecycle management of assessment tools and capabilities to include but not limited to engineering, deployment, operations and maintenance.


This position will:
1. Identify, analyze, define and coordinate user, customer and stakeholder needs and translates them into technical requirements
2.  Help business units identify technology solutions with the potential to improve technical capabilities
3.  Work with stakeholders as well as technical and analytical counterparts to define constraints, and develop requirements and concept of operations documentation
4.  Work with stakeholders to identify best-fit technical solutions for business unit needs
5. Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies
6.  Provide conceptual design, prototype, and test cycles appropriate to a chosen technical solution
7.  Identify and manage dependencies with other systems and elements of the IT infrastructure
8.  Evaluate industry offering to identify products and technologies with the potential to support the design
9.  Identify potential environmental impacts on systems
10.  Record lessons learned, processes and procedures, and other pertinent quality topics in appropriate formats
11.  Work with project personnel to resolve schedule problems and ensure developed applications and systems are transitioned to customers in a timely manner
12.  Validate system elements and requirements
13.  Develop and implement test plans for commercial off the shelf (COTS) and custom developed systems
14.  Ensure all product and administrative documentation is completed and maintained in order to ensure continuity and historical reference
15.  Ensure deliverables meet all relevant quality and security standards
16.  Meet the divisions O&M and availability needs for all technical implementations
17.  Maintain and publish updates for tools for all division officers


Education 1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

 2. Masters Degree preferred.

Qualifications Required:

1. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience troubleshooting and problem solving both technical and non-technical issues.

2. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.

3. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience with Cloud computing infrastructures and virtual networking.

4. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience with the creation of automation scripts for system operations and maintenance.



1. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience exhibiting written and oral communication skills.

2. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience with penetration testing, system exploitation and cyber security engineering.

3. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience with the Sponsor’s IT organization, control boards and infrastructure.

4. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience with Information Security policies and guidance, as well as the ability to assist in researching, evaluating and developing relevant security policies and guidance.

5. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience working independently and in a team environment.

6. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience providing customers with options and solutions (technical and procedural) to fill capability gaps.

7. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience with vulnerability scanning tools to include Nessus and Webinspect.

8. Two years of demonstrated on-the-job experience identifying technology gaps in current capabilities and processes.




10-15 years of related systems engineering experience.
