Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a policy researcher leader with strong quantitative analysis skills to support our projects in health, nutrition and food assistance, labor, military and veteran's health issues. 


Job Responsibilities:

· Design outcomes research studies, protocols, economic models, and conduct predictive and advanced analytics · Assist in the evaluation design and statistical approach of proposals for new research projects · Direct and manage large projects or a series of smaller projects including leading design, data collection, analysis, and report writing.  · Maintain an industry presence through publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.    · Provide technical guidance to less senior staff. 


Job Requirements:

· A Master's degree in economics, sociology, or a related social sciences discipline with 10 years of experience or Ph.D. in economics, sociology, or a related social sciences discipline with 3 years of experience is required.
Candidates must have strong empirical skills and experience applying these skills in their project work. Experience in public policy and social program research, ability to work in a team environment, and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Experience with program evaluation design is a plus.
