We are a privately held company that values family, collaboration and dedication.We are currently searching for a Category Manager who reports directly to the Director of Retail Marketing for evaluation of performance and direction of duties. The Category Manager organizes, directs, plans and controls activity that ensures customer value, excellence in presentation, quality and consistency of product, innovation, productivity and ethical community and organization responsibility. Generally, the time management required for success in this position is 25% field time and 75% administrative time.This position requires a seasoned knowledge of the products and disciplines provided in merchandising programs. Incumbent will possess strong marketing background that focuses on identifying and satisfying customer needs. As this is a staff support function, it is critical that the incumbent possess superior written and verbal communication skills.This position is responsible for the effective coordination of assigned programs between various suppliers and Dash In Food Stores. This coordination includes but is not limited to buying, promotions, development and administration of the management disciplines necessary to ensure the achievement of the maximum potential of the non-foods category.Ensures continued sales and gross profit contribution through quality marketing strategy and effective execution of the strategy.Ensures that the integrity of the ?brands? is maintained to the standards of the brand partner.Constantly monitors performance of managed brands/products to ensure it meets organizational objectives.Identifies new business opportunities for new products, re-launches, packaging changes, range extensions and proposes initial plans to exploit these opportunities.Develops, communicates, implements and coordinates all non-foods promotions. Participates in all national programs that are suitable for Dash In.Develops, communicates, implements and coordinates all new programs using the EVA process and EVA modeling.Cooperates with community to enhance the company?s image.Strives to get maximum efficiency from our programs, advertising, and promotions.Participates in annual sales, gross profit, financial planning through the budgetary process, and commits to the attainment of same.Liaises with internal departments and external agencies to ensure full communication and success of marketing plans.BS/BA in relevant field, Marketing/Business Administration preferred+5 years of experience in a fast-paced consumer packaged goods experience or relevant agency experience preferably.Ability to think strategically and increase effectiveness at achieving overall strategies in a highly collaborative environment.Ability to interpret and carry out shopper communication objectives to ensure reason-to buy is readily apparent on finished deliverables.Ability to manage projects with deadlines to meet customer needs.Ability to develop strong relationships across many functions and external partners.Strong oral and written communication skills to influence and secure cross-functional support.Must have excellent analytical skills and business acumen to build strong business cases for change.Must be technology savvy and have strong office productivity software skills (eg, PowerPoint, Excel, SAP) to use promotion databases, financial reporting and promotional analysis.
