Administrative Management Specialist (Human Resources)
This position is located in the National Air and Space Museum (NASM), Smithsonian Institution (SI), Directorate of Management and Public Programs. NASM, created by an act of Congress, has as its mission to memorialize the national development of aviation and space flight; collect, preserve and display aeronautical and space flight equipment of historical interest and significance; serve as a repository for scientific equipment and data pertaining to the development of aviation and space flight; and, provide educational material for the historical study of aviation and space flight.

Grade 13: You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position specialized experience is defined as researching and advising on federal HR regulations and policies; advising supervisors and managers on all areas of human resource issues, workforce optimization; providing analytics and workforce reports; developing business rules for hiring; using organizational analytics recommends staffing strategies and organizational alignments; recruiting diverse staff through active outreach; consulting with supervisors on skill gaps and employee development; advising on position descriptions, job analyses, performance plans, appraisals, justifications for a variety of recruitment and non-recruitment actions; and preparing actions and action packages for central HR processing.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Qualification requirements, including one year time-in-grade at the next lower grade level for promotion candidates, must be met within 30 days of the job announcement closing date.
