GEICO's Enterprise Application Security team is seeking a security engineer with a broad infrastructure knowledge at all layers. A key component of this position is the ability to analyze complex systems for risks and engineer secure alternatives within the confines of GEICO's security policies, providers, and budgets. The candidate will be working with other engineers within Enterprise Security to protect GEICO's applications. They will assist in various security projects and initiatives. Candidate must have the ability to plan, prioritize, manage risks, execute, and provide status to management. The role requires strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Design and implement secure solutions

• Perform risk assessment

• Provide guidance on security best practices to application developers and other customers

 

Candidate Qualifications:

• Good Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and Web application security concepts

• Ability to effectively communicate with application developers on security vulnerabilities and provide solutions to remediate them

• Candidate must be a self-starter and willing to review security information from multiple tools to identify patterns of malicious behavior

• Candidate must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Participate in assessments of planned and installed systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs

• 2+ years hands on experience or working knowledge on WAF (web application firewalls like Imperva, F5 ASM)

• 2+ years of experience on using tools like Burp Suite, Fiddler, Wireshark etc.

• Security+ (must obtain within 6 months if not possessed)

 

Desirable Qualifications:

 

• SSCP, CISSP and other security certifications

• A good mix of Application development and Security experience
