Responsible for the creation and modification of designs for mobile, web, social, presentations and other digital customer interactions - creating an exceptional user experience. Take an ownership role in the digital customer journey and demonstrate strong interest in the design and development of engaging user experiences. Contribute to corporate digital goals, including growing emerging sales channels, and continually improving LGA digital products. Lead/create exceptional interface design efforts and experiences across various software platforms that are consistent with the L&G brand and digital strategy. Advocate for consistent interfaces and experiences across LGA digital platforms.Creative ability to ideate from initial concept through design process to implementation.Present and pitch designs to all levels of management.Create robust wireframes and hi-fidelity design artifacts using Creative Cloud, Axure, or other tools. Translate wireframes/mockups into functional HTML/Java Script prototypes for usability testing.Design the visual layout for websites or web-based products with the goal of enhancing the appeal to users while maximizing functionality.Specialize in interaction design and visual design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.Own the creation of customer journey maps for key digital processes. Identify opportunities to personalize the customer journey based on knowledge of the customer.Communicate and coordinate user experience objectives to development teams.Translate design concepts and wireframes into high fidelity digital prototypes. Iterate on complex interactions and deliver pixel-perfect visual designs.Understand user behavior and motivations using qualitative and quantitative methods like contextual inquiry, A/B testing, and experimental design in collaboration with digital team and others. Design, implement, and manage user experience testing procedures.Assist in the technical decision making process and strategy on development projects. Help define integrations (API, etc.) that will facilitate the data exchanges and personalization driving our customer interactions. Translate business needs into project objectives, milestones, and specifications for development teams.Serve in a lead or backup role for all development responsibilities owned by the Digital department.Manage the optimization of page performance and loading speeds across all web properties.Assist in the evaluation of business opportunities that have a Digital focus.Research and integrate up and coming design trends - staying current on emerging interaction design and technology trends.Contribute to LGA Digital strategy, positioning LGA as a leader in digital innovation.Provide both technical and creative support to improve LGA digital products.Effectively communicate design and interaction concepts to both technical and non-technical collaborators.EducationBS degree in design (interactive, graphic, visual, user interface), Human Computer Interaction, cognitive psychology or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.Experience/Knowledge 5+ years of design experience for software, web applications, and mobile devices5+ years of web development experienceExperience using/designing for iOS/Android apps and responsive web interfacesExperience with interaction design analysis and prototyping toolsExcellent leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills.Experience with user interface design patternsExperience with dynamic data reporting solutions including TIBCO, Spotfire and TableauLife Insurance experience desired Skills Expert in visual web design and functional user experiences. Samples will be requested.Fluency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web development frameworks (C# desired)Capable of learning new programming languages as they emergeLateral as well as analytical and creative thinker that is detail oriented and has eye for exceptional designAbility to present a well-thought out, end-to-end design process, including prototypes, wireframe production, process flows, personas, journey mapping, etc. Ability to articulate design decisions with confidence - strong written and verbal communication skillsContinuously learning, constantly seeking opportunities for experimentation, fail fast, optimize workflows and foster open communicationProblem solverIndependent, organized yet flexible and able to prioritize effectively without losing sight of the big picture
