General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a qualified Principal Systems Administrator to support the Defense Intelligence Agency’s mission to provide all-source defense intelligence that will prevent strategic surprise and deliver a decision advantage to war-fighters and inter-agency partners that defend America’s national security interests.


The qualified candidate will support the DIA Chief Information Office’s Enterprise Platform Services contract by assisting with designing, developing, and operating state-of-the-art applications and Cloud-based platforms that will enhance client Software Development and IT Operations (DevOps) and data analytics. EPS provides its Users a secure, standards-based, data hosting, sharing and management space offering applications that bring or make use of shared data via an open, integrative, and hosting platform.  EPS includes application development and deployment; the cataloging of (middle-ware) services to streamline hosted application integration and source code; alignment of Agency data with IC data and search standards; tools for advanced data exploration and analysis, and modeling; and a database services environment or “database farm”, accompanied by a combination of enterprise tools that standardized and consolidate the database architecture.


GDIT’s Principal Systems Administrator will oversee the functionality, efficiency, integrity, and security of an IT system (personal computers and servers) running multiple operating systems; perform User interface relative to technical issues; make hardware and software purchase recommendations; and engage with third-party technology vendors and internal database staff. Other duties consist of:

    Conducting systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies, including installing new software, troubleshooting, granting permissions to applications, and training users. Administering Linux-based systems, KVM virtual infrastructures, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs). Writing Puppet or Ansible scripts to automate the provisioning and maintenance of platform services and infrastructure. Developing and implementing testing strategies and document results.Providing advice and training to end-users.Providing guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members, and may have supervisory responsibilities.Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.May serve as a technical team or task leader.Participate in special projects as required.
Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications The contract requires 8 years of directly related in systems administration and analysis.

A DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required...preferably a Sec +.
