Grants and Contracts Data Specialist, Main Campus Office of Research Services - Vice Provost for Research

Georgetown's Main Campus Office of Research Services (OSR) has adopted a lifecycle management approach to research administration. This means that teams within our office are organized to manage proposals from the beginning, or ‘pre-award,' stage of a project through to the termination, or closeout, of an award. This comprehensive approach helps the teams to better understand the entire cycle of an award in all of its stages, rather than only gaining familiarity with one phase. Our website is organized by lifecycle phase from Finding Funding to Closing Out an Award.

The Grants and Contracts Data Specialist assists Principal Investigators and Administrators with data management, reporting, and data analytics for grants and contracts administration. S/he is proficient in Workday Grants Management functionality and provides support for critical metrics.  Reporting to the Director of the Research Services Center, the Grants and Contracts Data Specialist has duties that include but are not limited to:

Grants Management System

  • Records proposal
  • Activates and sets up awards
  • Completes award amendments

Data Reports

Provides data/reports to Main Campus management and Principal Investigators for critical metrics - for example, proposal volume, active awards, and projected revenue.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 - 3 years of experience with complex data entry, reporting, and data analytics.
  • High proficiency using MS Excel.
  • Adaptable to the ever-changing technology within the University and the federal government

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in a university or other nonprofit grants and contracts office
  • Proficiency using PeopleSoft products, Workday, Oracle, and/or Coeus
