Junior Business Development Associate - Institutional

Mason Investment Advisory Services, Inc., a rapidly growing institutional investment consulting firm, based in Reston, Virginia, is seeking a Junior Business Development Associate to join our institutional division. The Junior Business Development Associate will work closely with Mason’s Chief Marketing and Development Officer and Mason’s institutional marketing team.


Job responsibilities include:

  • Contact prospective Mason clients including foundations, endowments and corporate entities nationwide in order to: establish relationships with key decision makers, communicate Mason’s investment philosophy, set appointments and to gather data on RFP opportunities and other key pieces of information for use in future calls
  • Coordinate follow-up requests/action items with the institutional marketing team
  • Conduct pre-meeting research on prospects to help prepare Mason staffers for successful appointments
  • Participate in internal Mason investment committee meetings to learn about Mason’s culture and philosophy on client service and investment strategy
  • Assist with special marketing projects as needed

The ideal candidate will possess professionalism, excellent phone skills, a strong work ethic and the ability to effectively schedule appointments for multiple Mason employees. Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills are a must in order to effectively communicate the Mason Investment Advisory Services philosophy. Success in this inside development role may lead to an outside marketing and development role in future years.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in finance and or marketing. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Knowledge of Goldmine software is a plus.

Two to four years of experience with a brokerage firm or registered investment advisor and Series 7 and 66 licenses (or Series 63 and 65) is a plus.
