Content Development Manager

The Content Development Manager is responsible for the content generation process for live events and other marketing services including webinars, surveys, infographics and e-books. Also, The Content Development Manager generates topic ideas, program structure and flow, speakers and participants. The Content Development Manager generates content based on their own knowledge and experience, consultation with internal Bloomberg editorial staff, and through external partner relationships. Core topic areas include government, technology, law and sustainability.

As a Content Development Manager on this team, you work closely with editorial and analytical staff across a range of content verticals, as well as with our clients and business stakeholders to manage the end-to-end content creation and delivery process, including:
-Create an ongoing editorial calendar of event opportunities through regular consultation with the editorial staff and other sources.
- Conduct ongoing research within an assigned area to further your industry knowledge and develop potential new conference ideas.
-Create individual topic memos for each Custom Event to inform, and brief, the sales staff on details of a specific event as they look for sponsors.
-Create Custom Event final agendas in consultation with the editorial staff and outside sponsoring partner (as needed).
- In consultation with editorial staff and outside partnering organizations suggest, invite and confirm panel and keynote speakers.
- Provide strategic information required to market conferences, including: detailed information on the target market both in terms of industry sectors and disciplines and geographic markets, relevant industry associations, industry publications and competitive events.
-Work with and support a cross-functional team on an ongoing basis to ensure successful marketing and sponsorship of Custom Events.
-Brief central marketing on an event target audience and content focus, to serve as trigger for marketing activity.
-Brief operations team on logistics requirements of each Custom Event.
-Join sales calls as necessary to provide context on content and to help close sales.
- Build relationships with editorial staff and analysts.
-Attend the event to further refine content ideas for future events in a specific practice area, and develop relationship with speakers and sponsoring organizations more deeply.
-Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
5+ years’ of marketing, editorial and events planning experience; proven ability to plan, manage, and execute an end to end content development process (from ideation to execution) in a live event format; ability to learn and interpret complicated subject matter quickly and communicate subject matter to a practitioner audience and to clients; conceptual ability to rapidly develop competent knowledge on diverse topics; demonstrated ability to create meaningful content and business relationships with internal and external stakeholders; strong analytical and critical thinking skills; excellent project management and organizational skills including the ability to perform and prioritize multi-tasks/assignments and meet established deadlines; demonstrated ability to use office productivity software currently in use in BBNA; superior oral and written communications skills; excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with others at all levels within and outside of BBNA; availability to travel up to 30% (as needed); ability to review and critique promotional copy and design. Knowledge of copywriting, proofreading and editing skills; experience in professional markets desired; Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, advertising, or related field, or equivalent experience is required.
