Responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks.

  

 Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.

 Provide management and support to, but not limited to:

 Wireless LAN

 Voice over internet protocol (VoIP)

 Firewall management

 Internet Protocol (IP) address management

 Domain Name Server (DNS) administration and VPN support for all connections,

including Extranet and OCONUS sites.

 Provide system administration and server operational support, including O&M for all tools used to

support NOC activities throughout the enterprise.

 Provide support for security authorizations of existing or new NOC systems within the network

boundaries.

 Implement, install, configure, operate, and maintain Government approved automated network

tools. Use these tools to track network configuration; monitor status and performance. Optimize

the system to detect, diagnose and resolve network problems; provide monitoring of network

utilization and identify capacity requirements. Approved tools include, but are not limited to:

CiscoWorks Prime and LMS or latest iteration.

SolarWinds suite.

Cisco Secure Audit Collection Services (ACS).

Extreme Networks NetSight.

Extreme Networks NAC.

OneGraphs.

InfoBlox DNS / Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).

Juniper Netscreen Firewall Manager

Cisco ASA Firewall Manager

(Note: this tool set will likely change as technology and solutions evolve)

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

 

Current Cisco Network Associate certification, at minimum, required.

 

Other Certifications desired: Cisco Certified Network Professionals (CCNPS):

routing and troubleshooting certification; wireless certification, firewall certification.

 

SolarWinds Certified Professional certification desired

 

 

Qualifications 8-10 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.
