The Department of Justice (DOJ), Security and Emergency Planning Staff (SEPS), Justice Protective Service Operations Section (JPS OPS), is seeking to hire a Physical Security Specialist. The mission of the Security and Emergency Planning Staff (SEPS) is to develop, implement, and maintain DOJ programs regarding personnel security, information security, physical security, litigation security, and emergency preparedness planning. The incumbent serves as Physical Security Specialist that will assist with the implementation of security policy and programs and perform limited law enforcement duties in accordance with applicable authority for protection of government employees and property.

To qualify for the GS-09: you must possess at least one of the following: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties 1) Experience monitoring security procedures and creating reports 2) Experience performing law enforcement duties for the protection of government employees and property. 3) Experience evaluating the effectiveness of existing security practices and procedures and drafting recommendations.
Highly Recommended - completion of a civilian or military law enforcement academy or similar.
