In order to qualify for this position, you MUST meet the following:
Basic Education Requirement:
You must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. (You must submit transcripts to support your educational claims).
Specialized Experience Requirements:
In addition to meeting the basic education requirement above, you must also have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, with experience in ALL of the following areas: serving as a senior software architect/engineer responsible for enterprise service architecture and technical design; implementing software components of an automated biometric identification system; serve as senior software expert in providing computer science and technical integration expertise for custom software; serving as a technical expert in biometrics; developing person-centric system concepts; developing new code or modify existing code in a variety of programming languages (such as C, C++, Java, SQL, C#, and familiarity with Linux OS, AIX OS) and web application development.
You must clearly show in your resume how you meet this requirement, or you will be rated ineligible.
For any college courses, graduate work, research, thesis or other non-descript courses listed on your transcript (such as "Independent Research"), your resume or attachment memorandum from an academic professor must indicate how each course fulfills the specific education requirement (i.e., state number of semester hours credited, topic of study, grade earned).
NOTE: Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (particularly positions with a positive education requirement). Special Instructions For Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. All qualifications and time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
