Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor’s degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of these seven areas of engineering science or physics:(a) statics, dynamics;(b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

In addition to the above, to qualify for this position at the payband H, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G, FG/GS-5/7/9 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience may include but not limited to: experience working with human factors research projects; experience using process improvement principles and practices for a research project.
3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph..D. degree or Ph..D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
Education must be directly related.
In addition to the above, to qualify for this position at the payband I, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-11/12 in the Federal Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience may include but not limited to: experience working with human factors research in the area of flight deck or equivalent aviation areas to manage multiple human factors projects; and experience applying process improvement principles and practices to research programs.
