Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, assisting in the development and production of financial reports.
Or, equivalent combination of post-high school education and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, assisting in the development and production of financial reports.
Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations.
This is a support position responsible for development and production of financial reports, budget documents, and presentation material. The incumbent prepares clear and meaningful analyses on WMATAs operation and capital program including, but not limited to, operating revenues and expenses, staffing, and capital project execution and on other areas such as subsidies, reserve accounts, debt service, capital programs, contract issues as they relate to the operating and capital budget, and analytical and contractual issues as they relate to supporting the SmarTrip Regional Customer Service Center. The incumbent works independently under minimum supervision on assigned duties and has considerable latitude for independent work.
Participates in the preparation and justification of the Authority’s operating and capital budgets.
Maintains continuing contact with operating and capital elements of the Authority in order to assess impact of budgetary and financing problems.
Utilizes confidential information for Board Budget Committee hearings to support recommendations to Board of Directors and to assist in the conduct of research and evaluation of problem areas.
Develops confidential budget submissions, reports, surveys, and correspondence which relate to the WMATAs budget and other financial issues as requested by the local governments, Washington Area Council of Government, and the Federal Transit Administration.
Maintains liaison with jurisdictional, transit, SmarTrip regional partners and other budget representatives.
