Front Desk Coordinator, Office of Admissions - Georgetown University Law Center

The Front Desk Coordinator is the initial contact person for the Office of Admissions and often for the entire Law Center, and fosters an overall positive impression of the Law Center and the application process.  S/he provides administrative support, handles general email account, and directs general questions from callers and visitors to other staff as needed.  Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Admissions, the Front Desk Coordinator has duties that include but are not limited to;

Front Desk {Mail/Calls/Visitors)

  • Serves as first point of contact for both J.D. and LL.M. Admissions.
  • Answers general questions from callers, visitors, and emails.
  • Manages the general J.D. & LL.M. voicemail box.
  • Maintains and stocks reception area - for example, refrigerator, coffee bar, and brochures.
  • Works with the Senior Manager on brochure and publications inventory and coordinates the disposal of old brochures.

Administrative & Technological Support

  • Provides administrative and technological support and processes a portion of JD and Graduate applications.
  • Assists in annual "wrap-up" process.
  • Supports staff members on data entry and data clean-up projects.

Routine Correspondence

  • Sends Status Check emails on a daily basis.
  • Prepares and sends Introduce Yourself emails on a bi-weekly basis (Late Sept to May).
  • Prepares and sends J.D. & LL.M. Recommender Thank-You emails on a biweekly basis (Late Sept to May).

JD and Graduate Departmental Email Accounts

Forwards emails in a timely manner and for responding to general questions sent to the general J.D. and LL.M. email accounts


  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 2 years of relevant administrative and customer service experience
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of higher education administration
  • Familiarity with ACES2 and Banner Student Information Systems software
