Data Control Accountant
George Mason University Fiscal Services seeks a Data Control Accountant in General Accounting. Responsibilities: The position is responsible for ensuring complete and accurate processing of all transactions entered into the universityâ€™s Ellucian Banner accounting system, and for transaction file interfaces and data entry into the Commonwealthâ€™s Cardinal accounting system.
Required Qualifications: * Bachelorâ€™s degree in accounting or business administration, or combined equivalent experience and education; * Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles; * Ability to analyze and organize large quantities of data; * Attention to detail; * Basic Excel proficiency (advanced proficiency is a plus); * Solid written and verbal communication skills; and * Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.
Preferred Qualifications: * At least three yearsâ€™ experience as an accountant in a large organization with a complex accounting system is preferred.
