Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.


 1. Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.

 2. Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.

 3. Sets up administrator and service accounts.

 4. Maintains system documentation

 5. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.

 6. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

 7. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

 8. May program in an administrative language.

 9. Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.

 10. Provides advice and training to end-users.

 11. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.

 12. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

 13. Participates in special projects as required.

15. Conduct and perform configuration and service asset management.


16. Oversee AFIN system monitoring, change and incident management activities including automated change and incident management tools. Administer and manage automated change and incident management tools.  Provide recommendations regarding change and configuration management practices. Provides senior level support resolving system/network issues.  Responsible for system administration of assigned duty areas.  Lead other system administrators, directing and evaluating their activities, to include updating tool configurations and providing informative content to enable AFIN users and operators to resolve changes and incidents at the lowest possible tier.  Content shall be presented through the automated management tools and/or Tier 0 Self-help websites. Information content shall include frequently asked questions and standard solutions for the resolution of issues on the AFIN. Ensure long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.  Analyze customer feedback from automated change and incident management tools to identify service improvements. Analyze customer feedback about automated tools providing a summary in the MAR. Provide a technical report when improvements are gleaned from the analysis.
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software. Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.   Perform supervisory duties as needed. By requisition level of 8570 Certification and OEM/Industry, Certifications will be added to be in compliance.

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications 5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.


Active secret security clearance at a minimum is required.

Current CompTIA Security+ CE certification
