Manager, Computer Operations
Manages and directs the computer operations activities at a company or customer location. 1. Plans, manages, and controls the computer operations activities at a company or customer location. 2. Supervises and directs the work of assigned computer operations staff, which may include subordinate supervisors. 3. Oversees activities such as equipment scheduling, production control, data libraries, teleprocessing, and similar operations. 4. Establishes detailed schedules for the utilization of all equipment to obtain maximum utilization and effectiveness. 5. Assigns staff to insure optimum effectiveness and monitors performance. 6. Recommends and implements programs to minimize costs, ensure optimum output, and maintain quality. 7. Controls the integrity and security of all data files received, utilized, processed, and produced by computer operations personnel. 8. Interacts with client and vendor personnel to resolve problems. 9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 10. Participates in special projects as required. 11. Security + required. 12. Coordinate and facilitate effecitve accomplishment of change and incident management among AFIN operators. 13. Lead operational support tasks. Utilize operational insight into the operations and maintenance of AFIN networked systems to facilitate the change and incident management processes. Provide recommendations regarding change and configuration management practices. Guide AFIN personnel on information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/ communications operations, data entry, data control, operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations. Provide input to policy level discussions regarding standards and budget constraints. Performs supervisory duties as needed. By requisition level of 8570 Certification and OEM/Industry, Certifications will be added to be in compliance. Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. Qualifications 8-10 years of related computer operations experience, including supervisory experience.
