JOB SUMMARY:

About the Agency

The United States Senate Sergeant at Arms is seeking qualified candidates for a mid-level Security and Emergency Preparedness Analyst position in our protective services and continuity division. The organization is recruiting talented candidates who seek the opportunity to work in a challenging environment and provide Senate state offices with security and emergency preparedness training and equipment.

This is mid-level, professional work to develop, plan, present and track security and emergency preparedness training to Senate state offices through webinars and VTC applications. In addition, the incumbent will also be responsible for inventory, resupply and shipping of emergency equipment to Senate state offices and other administrative duties as assigned. All work is performed under the supervision of the department director. Incumbents will regularly interact with representatives from other SAA divisions and Senate offices.


KEY REQUIREMENTS:

● Knowledge of services provided by the State Office Readiness Program.
● Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design, course development, and training.
● Ability to gather and analyze data.
● Ability to conduct needs analysis in order to determine training needs.
● Ability to accurately prepare and process a variety of reports, records, and documents.
● Ability to effectively interact with staff members representing all levels of the organization, as well as with outside vendors.
● Ability to conduct professional presentations and present training to a variety of participants.
● Ability to develop instructional material and select the most effective instructional method.
● Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Work requires a Bachelor’s Degree in education, business management, or a related field, and three to five years of progressively responsible general administrative experience preferably in a training environment; or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the listed knowledge, abilities, and skills:

Licenses, Certification and Other Requirements
● Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.
● Must possess or be able to obtain a top secret clearance.
● Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
● This position may require the incumbent to be available for sudden recall in response to emergency events affecting the Senate campus/community, which may include after-hour or weekend work, and to potentially deploy to alternate sites in support of the Senate’s contingency operations.
