The company is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated leader to join the property management division.  The property management division, AHC Management LLC, is a full-service company specializing in affordable and market rate housing. AHC Management LLC also provides relocation services when AHC is redeveloping or renovating an existing property.

The company has more than 6,000 rental units at nearly 50 communities in Northern Virginia and Maryland.  In 2013, AHC was again selected by the Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers as Developer of the Year.  Recently, AHC was selected as one of the Best Nonprofits to work for.

The job purpose: The Senior VP, Property Management will provide leadership and supervision for the AHC Property Management division, an affordable and conventional multifamily property management company. The Senior VP will develop and implement strategies to ensure high quality service, cost effective management of resources while advancing AHC Inc’s mission and business objectives. The Senior VP will also promote a culture that reflects AHC Inc’s values, encourages outstanding performance and rewards productivity. The position reports to the President & CEO of AHC.

To succeed the ideal candidate will: Develop annual business plans to advance AHC’s mission and objectives; develop and monitor strategies to ensure the long-term success and viability of the organization; oversee direct reports in the supervision and guidance of property staff; ensure that the properties are in strict compliance with all applicable regulations; oversee marketing efforts for new tenants & tenant retention; direct the preparation of operating budgets in concert with property ownership and asset management; partner with AHC Inc’s executive team on related project feasibility analysis; develop and implement sound operational procedures, policies and standards.

Job requirements: a college degree (years of experience may be substituted for education); Real Estate Broker’s license in Virginia desired; license in Maryland a plus; a minimum of 10 years successful experience in leading a  property management company or division (affordable housing & market rate); demonstrated ability to manage staff; expertise with local, state and Federal housing regulations;  strong Section 8 and Tax Credit knowledge and experience; established relationships with HUD and affordable housing providers; solid experience with accounting requirements; working knowledge and experience of MS Office; ability to travel within the DC Metro area regularly; strong written and verbal communication.
