Principal Functional Analyst -- Requirements Engineer -- TS SCI Required
GDIT seeks a qualified Requirements Engineer to formulate and define system requirements and goals based on both User and business needs, but also encompasses data life-cycle and industry requirements. The qualified candidate will devise or modify procedures relative to solving complex problems with computer equipment capability, limitations, operating time, and performance results; as well as, analyze business and User needs, document requirements, and translate them into proper system requirement specifications. Lastly, the qualified candidate will leverage technical knowledge relative to data life-cycle phases, while considering current and future business environment implications associated with the technology application. Other functional duties may include: 1. Analyzes user needs to determine functional requirements for a wide variety of projects. 2. Performs technical assessments aimed at improving client systems. 3. Performs functional allocations to identify tasks and their inter-relationships. 4. Researches, identifies, and recommends resources required for task execution and completion. 5. Performs functional modeling based on requirements analysis. 6. Develops new systems or updates existing systems to meet client needs. 7. Serves as technical adviser to clients in assigned subject areas, recommends functional changes, and identifies areas for further investigation. 8. Generates recommendations in the form of technical briefings, reports, and other major documents provided to senior level client personnel. 9. Consults with clients to determine optimum design for assigned projects. 10. Identifies emerging relevant technologies that may result in improvements to current processes and systems. 11. Writes and updates project documentation including system procedures, presentations, and training materials. 12. Conducts functional testing of various systems. 13. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts, and may have supervisory responsibilities. 14. May serve as technical team or task lead. 15. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies and subject areas. 16. Participates in special projects as required. Education Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience. Qualifications The contract requires 8 years of related experience and 5 years of experience with requirements management, including collection, elicitation, and documentation, such as process implementation and Joint Application Design (JAD) Session facilitation. Other qualifications include:
- 5 years of experience with functional and technical integration requirements and design (including data requirements), developing and maintaining artifacts for requirements traceability, and supporting efforts, including both new development and O&M.3 years of experience with developing CONOPS documents, RTMs, Use Cases documents, End user Documentation, and prototypes.Experience with requirements management or development and design tools, including Atlassian Suite or Visio.Experience with Agile SDLC methodologies and DevOps principles.Ability to think critically and analytically in an enterprise architecture environment.Excellent oral and written communication skills associated with client engagement and oral briefings.
