Program and Grant Manager, Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence
The George Mason University Department of Criminology, Law and Society (CLS) invites applications for a Program and Grant Manager position. The Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence! (ACE!) was founded in 2010 as a research center to bridge disciplines and bring researchers, practitioners, and policymakers together to grapple with issues that affect criminal justice and health systems.
Responsibilities: This position provides administrative sponsored research support to ACE! research faculty with funded research from a variety of agencies. This position plays an important role in assisting the director with management of current programs and the development of new programs. Responsibilities include: * Assisting with the preparation of grant proposals; * Monitoring and analyzing fiscal matters related to funded projects; * Conducting monthly reconciliations; * Tracking and forecasting project budgets; * Processing direct expenses (i.e., travel, consultant payments, subcontract invoicing, purchasing of goods) and labor allocations; * Providing support in the preparation of project progress/dissemination reports; * Performs and coordinates hiring actions with appropriate human resource offices; * Maintaining project files; and * Providing general office management support, and supervising part-time staff as necessary.
This individual will serve as a resource for ACE! research faculty to answer grant administrative questions and process financial and hiring transactions; and act as a liaison with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Finance and Human Resource Office, the Office of Sponsored Programs and other central university offices as needed. The incumbent should maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, nonfederal, state, and university policies.
Required Qualifications: * Bachelorâ€™s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; * Ability to communicate effectively and professionally; * Excellent organizational skills; * Ability to manage project tasks through completion; and * Experience working with budgets.
Preferred Qualifications: * Knowledge of federal, state, and sponsor rules and regulations related to grants and contracts; * Previous sponsored program grant administration or university experience; and * Experience with Adobe InDesign.
