Summary

PenFed is hiring a General Maintenance I in Tysons, VA. The primary purpose of this job is to assist in a wide variety of maintenance activities, address immediate operational and/or safety concerns, assist skilled trades, and ensure that PenFed buildings and maintenance equipment is always in excellent condition and available for end users. These responsibilities include but are not limited to general maintenance, repairs, placement and movement of furniture and office equipment as required.

 

Essential Functions

    Perform both major and minor repair work around the building such as repairing locks and installing window blinds. Replace broken windows and door locks. Orders and maintains coffee machines and supplies as needed. Responsible for moving and storing of furniture and equipment, also the alteration and construction of employee work stations and office space using hand and power tools. Perform maintenance at local branches and main office on an as needed basis. Responsible for cleaning facilities, including, but, not limited to mechanical rooms and telephone closets, including painting if needed. Provide daily progress reports of current projects Meets with fire department and powers down building as necessary. Responsible for facility vehicle maintenance and car washes at the various shops. Install and repair electrical wiring and replace bulbs and Ballast                   . Install television and computer networking cabling Take measures to perform maintenance on equipment and tools. Perform general maintenance on sanitary and mechanical systems of buildings. Collect waste and ensure proper waste management procedures are carried out. Assist with construction or remodeling projects. Maintain the overall condition of the building and grounds. Make sure that the grounds are free of leaves, trash, snow or ice. Perform inspection of the premises and ensure that any hazardous conditions are immediately remediated. Assist the Facilities Engineer with preventative maintenance programs, including HVAC system, and minor electrical, plumbing and electrical system repairs. Coordinate and provides support during emergencies.
 

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

    High School Diploma is required. Minimum of six (6) months’ of relevant experience is required.
 

Supervisory Responsibility

    This position will not supervise employees.
 

Licenses and Certifications

    There are no additional certifications required.
 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
