The Research Assistant position works as a member of the coordinating center team supporting NIH-funded clinical research study, “Treatment Options for Type 2 Diabetes In Adolescents and Youth: Long-Term Post-Intervention Follow-Up (TODAY2)”. The position provides research study support, maintains research study documents, performs data quality checks, and conducts training for study staff. The position carries out the day-to-day communications with clinical sites in an effort to ensure that clinical centers are adhering to study procedures. This includes, acting as liaison with subcommittees and working groups and interact with programmers to develop research study reports. The amount of travel for site monitoring purposes is on an as needed basis (less than 5%).
Essential duties include:
-Serves as study webmaster and primary contact for website design, content management, and technical support. -Develops and presents research study staff training. -Works with programmers and developers to maintain and test new features of the web based data management system. -Participates in committees pertaining to data management system and website development. -Collaborates with colleagues to answer questions and provide assistance to research study staff. -Assists with acquisition and distribution of research study materials, including interacting with vendors as needed. -Participates in site visits and research study group meetings that may require travel. -Tracks research study’s regulatory submissions and approvals. -Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications: A BA/BS in related discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
