Assistant Business Office Manager
The George Mason University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics invites applicants for an Assistant Business Office Manager. Responsibilities: Duties include assisting Intercollegiate Athletics coaches and staff through the Business Services Department in the following areas:
Individual and Team Travel: * Manage the full life cycle of travel for designated athletic teams and coaches recruiting; * Secure hotel rooms for game officials; and * Process travel arrangements for interview candidates.
Office Management: * Perform a variety of duties to ensure smooth departmental operations; * Technology coordinator--purchase equipment and accessories, maintain hardware inventory, assist staff with technology issues and problems; * Telecom coordinator; * Print services; * Mail and delivery services; * Records management; * Maintain Mason People Finder and GoMason.com staff directory; and * Assist with volunteer onboarding.
Physical Inventory: * Oversee all Intercollegiate Athletics and Field House inventory reporting, including equipment, computers and vehicles; and * Oversee the departmentâ€™s surplus process.
Required Qualifications: * Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; * Ability to work with frequent interruptions; * Excellent internal and external customer service; * Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse community; * Possess basic computer skills (knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and data entry); * Willingness to be flexible with tasks and work schedule; * Ability to maintain confidentiality; * Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks; and * General office experience.
Preferred Qualifications: * A bachelorâ€™s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience; * Experience working in a fast-paced higher education and/or Division 1 Intercollegiate Athletics office; and * Working knowledge of NCAA rules.
